AMC 304 Problem. i have a 1978 jeep cj5 and i had a 1978 AMC 304 out of a jeep rebuilt from ground up and the jeep has fenderwell headers. heres my issue, the driverside of this motor is running great, but the passangerside of the motor runs horrible, it runs really rich and blows blue smoke and when idleing it i will backfire out of that side ... Where ever the rotor points to is #1. If by chance you are 180 degrees then he would be right. Just need to re adjust the distributor if needed to adjust timing once fired up. It may take a few attempts to seat the distributor and have the vac can pointed in a good location to adjust both ways.
